Terminated ride with Old Gits. 10

Must get my laptop sorted out, it has never been the same since spilling cup of tea on the keyboard!  Keep persevering with it but it does need replacing but after a visit to the Apple Store in Bristol realised I could get a new bike for less than what a laptop costs.  Difficult choice.
Got this thing powered up this morning another are four rides to go on.  No photos unfortunately, keep doing the same routes, need to get further afield.

Tuesday 16th April. This was a standard Old Git's Tuesday ride doing the 'reverse' route over Sand bay.  11 turned up which was pretty good considering the cold rain that was falling.  A pretty uneventful ride really, no incidents and we did shorten the ride a bit although the rain did stop as we finished.  Clocked 22 miles today

Wednesday 17th April A big change from yesterday.  A lot warmer and the sun was out.  Contacted a couple of the Old Gits and we had a poodle over to Brean for a cuppa.  Actually, despite the sun, there was a crisp easterly wind which took the edge off the day a bit.  An extra layer would have been useful.  We did 24 miles on this one.

Thursday 18th April.  A solo effort today. Just a quick spin to East Brent and back.  Again it was sunny but a bit fresh. Didn't seem to be out long but still clocked up 21 miles.

Friday 19th April.   Out with the Old Git Friday Riders with the intention go going to Clevedon.

The forecast was excellent  and 8 out of the 9 riders were in shorts. It was a tad chilly to start off with but soon warmed up.  Going into the long Easter break it promised to be very warm and sunny all weekend. We went out to Hewish, braved the fairly busy A370 road up to the Strawberry Line where Andy spotted that the front tyre on my bike looked defective.  A closer look showed the thin outer cover was separating from the inner canvas layer and we all agreed it may be unwise to continue the ride to Clevedon.  Luckily we were less than a couple of miles from Yatton railway station so myself and Big John caught the train back to Weston.  It was running 30 minutes late so we sat on the platform hoping that when it did arrive there would be room for our two bikes and not full of tourists heading for the golden sands of Weston. No problems on either of those two although arriving at Weston I released my cycling helmet was still on a bench at Yatton!  A quick call to Andy and a visit to the station on their way back from Clevedon proved successful.  The helmet was still there and they brought it back to me.  Result.  The Strave map above shows a journey of 20 odd miles but I had forgotten to turn the app off on the return journey as seen by the straight line from Yatton to Weston.  Actual mileage for the day I have put down as 10.  New tyre bought and fitted later.
