Bridgwater by train, blown back with the rain 18

The forecast for today (Saturday) and Sunday is not very good at all with wind , rain and not very high temperatures.  Need to get out to make up the mileage, the weekly total so far being 93 miles.  Today is the best bet with the wind from the south and slightly higher temperatures so decided to catch the train to Bridgwater and cycle north back to Weston.  This could be a good test for the wet weather gear.

Daffodils

Leaving the railway station at Bridgwater, soon got on to the A38 trunk road with the wind blowing nicely behind me.  Another cyclist overtook me and advised taking a small detour around the village of Pawlett as there had been an accident there earlier and glass was all over the road.  Many thanks to him for that, may well have avoided a puncture.  Also took a diversion around Brent Knoll as the road surface can get a bit rough along this stretch of the A38.  Going through the scattered houses that make up Wick, saw these daffodils and some snowdrops at the foot of a rural post box. With about 8 houses in the area, wonder how many letters the postman has to collect.  Nice to see the daffodils in bloom, surely a sign that warmer weather is not far away.

The rain was not a problem at all until the last mile when it came down with a vengeance.  Stayed nice and dry though throughout the 18 miles covered.  That made the total for the week 112 miles.
