28th February Hunningham

Had an invite today to visit my granddaughter, Katie, at her new home in Hunningham. It is about 10 miles from my house so ideal day to get the bike out.

Katie's new home

Nice ride out to Hunningham on the Hill despite some hills that got in the way. The new pad is a converted farm building, there are three in the photo, in a lovely spot in the countryside. Nice views, the house has character, and we are looking to get some serious barbecues under our belts in the summer months.  My daughter Jayne was off today and she joined us for tea. A lovely morning.

Offchurch Sports Club

Riding back home was better than going. The north east wind was behind me. I diverted slightly in Hunningham looking for the church and a photo op but could not find it! Followed the signpost, went down a lane, out the other end, no church. Will have to check the maps and revisit the place. Going down the road from Hunningham to Offchurch came across this sports field. It does seem way a long way out from anywhere but provides a lot of opportunities for the local sports folk.

The sun was shining on the way back, the wind was behind me, very pleasant. A round trip of 19 miles to round off the month.
Katie, if you read this, you need cake in your larder.
