Tunnel Trauma 24

A lovely sunny morning, a bit cool first thing but good for cycling. Went out on a big loop south of Weston and back through Loxton, Axbridge, Sandford and Banwell.  The title of this post will be evident shortly!

Shute Shelve Tunnel

This tunnel is on the Strawberry Line, a disused railway that ran between Cheddar and Clevedon.  The tunnel is a little short of 200 metres and needs some form of lighting in there. Coming out of bright sunlight, in does not take long to realise that the sign at the entrance, 'Use lights', is very necessary. After nearly running into the side wall, putting on the i-phone torch was just slightly worse than useless. On the plus side, others should see you. There was a young family travelling through in the opposite direction accompanied by cries of, "I don't like it." and, "It's too dark in here." The others in the family did not help by making ghost noises!  You can just see them at the far end of the tunnel.

Rival to Banksy!

A lot of alternative graffiti (street art?) is appearing around Weston by local artists, JPS and Fawn. This one is on the wall of Scally's Pub near the front.

He was right!

24 today making the weekly total 108. Back in business.
