1st May 2013 Warwick Wander

Really into Spring now. A beautiful afternoon, shorts on, away we go.

Woodcote Lane Leek Wootton

Hadn't gone far from home and I realised the last time I took a picture here it was deep snow! The greenery is really coming out now and the buds and grass are looking very fresh. A good time of year this.

Magnolia Tree, Kenilworth

I had spotted this magnolia tree earlier today and decided to target this for the blog. This one is in Warwick Road. There is loads of blossom starting to come out now it is getting warmer but the magnolia is the one that outshines all the others at the moment. Headed into Warwick and the Woodloes from here.

Disused chapel, Warwick Cemetery.

Into Warwick, got onto the canal near to the Birmingham Road.  Took a short detour from Woodloes into the cemetery and had a good look round. Never been here much at all and found this chapel in the centre. It was all locked up, and the windows had been boarded up. Some chap nearby reckoned it had not been used in the 5 years he had been visiting the place. There was another similar building, next to this one, but this was the better looking of the two. A fine old building that no longer seems to serve any purpose.

Daffodils Coventry Road

Rode back through Warwick and came back out into civilisation on the Coventry Road. It struck me that these daffodils should not be looking so good on the first day of May! Just shows how late the Spring is although it is well on the way now.

A good spin out today. 10.5 miles of pleasure!
