2nd February 2013 Spring?

Haven't done much at all today. Went out for a very short ride down the lane near my house, just to avoid sitting in all day if nothing else. It was lovely day today so did need to get out. My wife Sue came with me on the new mountain bike to try it out. We didn't go far enough for rental charges to apply unfortunately! So, it has been an arty farty sort of blog.

Snowdrops

Only went a few hundred yards to find a bunch of snowdrops on the grass verge. Taking a longer shot meant they disappeared into the grass so got close up with this shot. Rest assured that is my road bike standing there.

                                                            Crocuses (or is it crocii)

Had a little pootle around the lane and returned home. Opposite my house, the crocuses are starting to bloom so captured these as well.  These were in the shadow of some trees and did look a lot better when the sun was shining on them.

Just a little 2 miles today, just enough to keep the legs ticking over. Today is almost, but not quiet, a celebration of the onset of spring. The buds are coming out, the grass is looking a little greener, best think about dusting the lawnmower off!
