25th February 2013 Southam

Out with my friend Graham today. He normally likes to do longer rides than me, despite being 3 years older! He is passionate about cycling and has been doing it for more than 50 years. I have to reel him in when we go out so we discussed where to go, considering the cold weather, and agreed that a round trip to Southam would be ideal.

Long Itchington Diner

We met at Comptons Garage and headed out to Southam along the Welsh road.  It was not the best of days to be out, a cold easterly wind, mixed with a hint of light rain. Nice day for it then. Into the market town of Southam, and turned left towards Coventry to the village of Long Itchington; Scratch as Graham calls it!  This was about the half way point so had to drop into this diner for tea and toast.
Just realised, putting this photo on, there is a ghost in the window. Wearing a flourescent jacket and using a camera. Scary!!

Not the best of days to be out. Just over 23 miles over a fairly hilly route.  Good to get back home and have a pot noodle.
